The Information, Communication and Technology department enables students to explore how digital technology impacts on the lives of individuals, organisations and society. Students are provided with a relaxed, cool learning environment, comprising of three air conditioned ICT suites and dedicated members of staff.
Students will enhance their ICT skills and capability, as they use a range of digital tools and techniques to produce effective ICT solutions in a variety of contexts. This allows students to develop their practical use of ICT applications. Students will gain knowledge, develop skills and acquire new tools to improve their learning in other subjects, with the aim of enhancing their employability when they progress to further education. This will ultimately contribute to their personal development and future economic well-being.
We provide a variety of courses to suit the inclusive needs of our students, including OCR nationals level 1 / 2 and Edexcel GCSE.
ICT success at Whitefield School includes 89% A*-C grades at Edexcel GCSE, 41% at level 2 and 99% at level 1 for OCR. 100% pass rate at KS5 with 70% of students achieving a distinction or above.
