Yuxiang Chinese School Visit
Posted on: 20/07/2017
The Yuxiang School travelled from Bejing to London on Sunday 9th July and arrived at Whitefield School Gates for an eager start on Tuesday 11th July at 8.30am. The Yuxiang School students and Whitefield school students buddied up and exchanged letters a few months before. Tuesday morning was thrilling as the students met their buddies for the first time face to face and exchanged handshakes and gifts. The Yuxiang Students went to lessons with their buddies and got to grips with the UK Education System. They also experienced English culture and played Hockey after school, made crafts and also tasted baked potatoes for the first time.
During their visit the Yuxiang School performed for Whitefield students and created an ensemble of performances about traditional Chinese culture. The students showed off their beautiful traditional Chinese Dancing with beautifully styled costumes, shared their traditional Art work and sang eloquent Chinese traditional songs.
The teaching staff from the Yuxiang School were involved in learning walks visiting many subjects that China does not offer, for example our Media Studies Suite, our Design and Technology work rooms and our Performance space for Music, Drama and Dance.
Both schools thoroughly enjoyed the experience, students enjoyed meeting their buddies and look forward to continuing their communication across the Globe and one day we hope to return the visit.
