This February, one of our very own boys was featured on BB2 in a ground-breaking new documentary Generation Gifted , which follows the lives of six young people across Britain from Year 9 through to the end of Year 11. Jamarley Richards in Year 10 was selected to appear in the program after a series of workshops and interviews held by the production company a year ago, and has had cameras following him around ever since!
Generation Gifted is a longitudinal documentary, checking in with the students in an episode airing every year. February’s episode focused on Jamarley as he progressed through the end of Year 9, coping with the challenges of balancing school work with his hobbies, enjoying the success of winning the Headteacher’s Award at Achievement Evening, and working through some personal issues outside of school.
Generation Gifted is a program exploring the issues of social mobility in Britain today through the stories of six talented teenagers. Jamarley’s talents in music were particularly highlighted in this program, with our very own Ms. Ryan getting some quality screen time as well!
We are very proud of being associated with this high-quality, thought-provoking documentary, which has inspired discussion nationwide about the struggles that many of our bright students across the country are facing. We look forward to continue working with Blast! Productions and BB2 over the next year and a half, and seeing how Jamarley’s story unfolds!
