Science Week 2016

Science Week 2016

Posted on: 07/03/2016

Whitefield celebrated an extended British Science Week from the 7th – 18th March. The Science staff delivered assemblies to KS3 and KS4 and performed a demonstration aptly called ‘elephant’s toothpaste’; a mixture of chemicals, washing up liquid and food colouring that sends steaming foam metres in to the air. Students were in awe! Mr Nelson registered Whitefield School on the British Science Week website and together with 654 other schools’ registered pledges, were a part of ‘Demo Day’. We also ran a competition where students had to guess what a number of microscopic images were. Congratulations to Fathimath and Nahala in 9B who won 1st prize and to Daniel in 8D who came 2nd.
