Geography is an interesting and dynamic subject that teaches our students about the ever changing world we live in. Geography is particularly valuable due to the amount of transferable skills it offers, as well as developing essay writing skills, analysis of data and ICT through the exploration of Geographical investigation Systems (GIS).
At Whitefield students study the local area, then move on to study a range of national and global topics such as extreme environments and specific places e.g. Africa. The Geography department ensures that there are many opportunities for students to complete their learning outside of the classroom, developing opportunities to explore and understand the world. Our focus is ensuring that students enjoy lessons and develop a thirst for finding out more about our planet that will be sustained long after they leave Whitefield school.
