Students are assessed throughout each topic on their composing, performing and listening skills. Their work is regularly recorded for assessment purposes and to aid self-evaluation. Teachers give feedback via their music booklets and the VLE.

GCSE Music (OCR board)

 

Controlled assessment includes two performances and two compositions. In addition to this they will complete two written tasks which link to both.

 

Examined tasks include the creative task and the listening exam.

 

 

 

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Music Technology

Students complete controlled assessment assignments for Units 1, 6 and 8. Work is completed and submitted on the iMacs.

 

For Unit 2 students have to complete a large project under exam conditions.

Students complete controlled assessment assignments throughout the course. They are given assignment briefs that match the assessment criteria for each part of the unit.
