Science

Science builds bridges to both the academic world and a range of industries. Science lessons involve problem solving, team working and open ended investigation. This trains students to become more analytical and creative.

These skills will equip students to  play a greater role in improving our technological society in the future. Whenever possible, concepts are illustrated by exciting demonstrations and practical experiments. The emphasis from KS3 is on learning scientific skills and techniques that can be widely applied.

The department is composed of eight experienced, enthusiastic and well-qualified teachers and three highly supportive technicians.  Science is taught in seven well-equipped, spacious newly-refurbished laboratories. We have recently invested in a wide range of equipment to allow students to have meaningful practical experiences in all the Sciences. We offer a wide range of different courses to suit the needs of all learners.
