What is Ofsted?

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages. Whitefield School was inspected in December 2022. The report has been published and features on the Ofsted website. 

The official Ofsted report confirmed that inspectors found Whitefield students to receive leadership opportunities as well as a rich range of visits and activities to enhance their learning and add to a carefully considered curriculum that is free from disruption. Ofsted inspectors also noted that Whitefield School students were well motivated to learn, polite and considerate.

The inspectors were particularly impressed by school leaders’ ambition for pupils’ learning, and recognised all teachers’ strong subject knowledge, and presentational skills. 

The Ofsted report summarised a range of findings which related to pupils achieving great grades and character, including noting that students' voices are heard and teachers have high expectations of pupils behaviour.

Our Headteacher Mr. Christopher Hunt said, “We’re thrilled with our latest Ofsted report and are really pleased that the comments of the inspector recognise that our strong leaders have high expectations of pupils’ learning and behaviour. Everything we do is to ensure students are well-rounded and achieve great grades and great character when they leave Whitefield school. Beyond our local community it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to show off our school to OFSTED. I would like to thank all the pupils, parents, staff and governors for their continued support and dedication to the school. As acknowledged in the report, we have developed an aspirational and ambitious culture at Whitefield and we will continue to strive to achieve the highest of standards and performance.”
