The School Governors are delighted to announce the appointment of Liz Rymer as the new Headteacher of Whitefield School. She will take over the leadership of the School from January 2015 when Martin Lavelle moves on to his next post.
Liz is well known to students and parents as she is already a key member of the leadership team. She has been working in close partnership with Martin since 2009 when she began her links with Whitefield School as a School Improvement Consultant. She then went on to join the staff full-time as the Associate Headteacher in June 2011.
This appointment maintains important leadership stability and ensures that the School continues its strong development, as many of the improvements made in recent years have been sustained by Liz in her current role. Liz was also an integral part of the successful Ofsted inspection in January 2014, where the leadership and management of the school were graded ‘Outstanding’.
So, we can say with confidence, that this appointment will keep the School firmly on its journey from a very good school to a great school.
With the recent confirmation of the plans for the regeneration of the Brent Cross and Cricklewood area, this marks the start of an exciting new chapter in the development of Whitefield School.
