Whitefield School joins elite scheme for high-performing schools
Posted on: 23/07/2014
It is wonderful that the hard work of our teaching staff and our students has been recognised in this way and for us to receive this prestigious membership. To be one of a very few schools to be chosen by the Mayor of London is a superb achievement, and is testament to the outstanding educational experience we are offering at Whitefield. We are extremely proud to have been selected as a stand-out example of excellence, and are eagerly looking forward to sharing our ideas and best practice as part of this initiative.
Whitefield School is celebrating being awarded a coveted place in the London Schools Gold Club. The annual scheme, backed by the Mayor of London, recognises schools which have performed exceptionally well in raising students’ aspirations and achievements, and marks the latest in a series of impressive successes for the school.
Launched in 2013, the Gold Club, a scheme for ‘exceptional’ schools, works with each school to identify the methods which have been key to the school’s achievement. This best practice is then shared with other London schools. This means that Whitefield now has the prestigious honour of being among the ‘gold standard’ from which other schools can draw inspiration for improvement. With only 6% of the top London’s secondary schools securing a place in the Gold Club this year, Whitefield is among illustrious company.
