Information for students regarding the cancellation of Exams

Posted on: 21/03/2020

Dear students,

I hope you are all well and adjusting to learning at home.

I am sure you heard the government announcement on examination grades for this academic year. This is linked below.

The government has suggested they will use a range of information to determine your grades this summer. These include:

Your KS2 levels
In class assessment
Mock results
Teacher judgement

At the moment the government has not explained how this will happen and it is unlikely we will have any information regarding this for some weeks.

The government has also suggested you can take exams at the start of next academic year. This could be in October time. This will likely be the preferred option for Year 10, but is also an option for Y11 and Y13 students.

It is imperative therefore you continue to revise and keep on top of learning. Where possible coursework needs to be completed to your best ability as this will be important in forming judgements on grades.

Please refrain from asking your teachers about grades at the moment as they are unable to give any further guidance.

I appreciate you will be anxious about this, but try not to worry. We will provide you with further information as soon as we know more.

All the best
Mr Hicks
