School closed tomorrow (Monday 2nd November)

Posted on: 01/11/2020

Dear Parents,

Following the recent sudden announcements made by the Government concerning the national lockdown from Thursday 5 November, Whitefield School will now be closed to all students on Monday 2 November. This is to allow for further health and safety work to be undertaken across the site and to give staff time to plan for online learning. Please accept my apologies for the short notice.

All students in Year 7 will have lessons delivered by their teachers on Monday 2 November as per their timetable, as they were due to be off on Monday for their final day of isolation following a positive case in their year group.
Students in Years 8 to 13 will not be sent new online work for Monday 2 November, but  students can access work from their google classrooms, The Oak National Academy, BBC Bitesize, and they have a reading book they can carry on with too. There is also further guidance on online learning on the school website.

School will open as usual on Tuesday 3rd November for all students.

Children must not attend school if they have any symptoms of Covid-19.

Yours sincerely
Mrs Elizabeth Rymer
Headteacher
