Pastoral

Student Services at Whitefield School

Student Services at Whitefield School underpins the support systems which ensure students thrive and flourish academically, socially and emotionally.  The focus is key pastoral support to enable teachers to focus on quality first teaching. It provides students with a safe, supportive environment and focuses on student well-being as well as their day to day organisation and readiness to learn. Our Pastoral Support Officers, who were historically attached to specific year groups, now work together to ensure the student needs are met.

Student Services is located centrally (next to the Hub, in the main foyer in the school). Parents/carers and students can also contact Student Services by emailing studentservices@whitefield.barnet.sch.uk. The pastoral support staff within Students Services have a wealth of experience including mentoring, first aid, family support and work with outside agencies. Student Services is staffed from 8.30am to 4.15pm, and this layer of pastoral support compliments the role played by form tutors, class teachers, Year Team Leaders and the Senior Leadership Team.
